Technically speaking, drones do have the ability to fly in fog. It is up to individual drone operators as to whether flying in the fog and potentially damaging a drone is worth it without proper waterproofing of the drone. In the case of US Part 107 operators, as it stands currently as of this writing that flying in fog is prohibited.

If it’s a recreational flight, DJI recommends not flying in temperatures below 0°C (32F) – though some DJI products (the Inspire 2, for example), have heated batteries. It also recommends using a landing pad (great idea!) to prevent snow from getting onto (or into) your motors. Moisture is not a great thing for drone motors.

I performed yesterday a range test on my Mavic 3 in sport mode with a battery that only has 1 cycle. multiples spotters help me with this test. Thanks to my wife, daughter and friends. The weather was perfect, 70 degrees, 1-3 Mph wind, The OccuSync3+ is incredible. The video can be seen up to 5.1K. As you can see the battery is the limit.
After all, you can get some pretty stunning and dramatic shots in rainy landscapes, so I’m sure you’ve asked this question before. The answer is no, DJI drones are not waterproof…yet! There are a few models of DJI drones that are water-resistant, however, but most of these are not for the average drone enthusiast.
